When It comes to Police Impound Auctions, Here’s five easy steps to completing your first purchase.

Step One: Financing


You should have your financing arranged before bidding on a vehicle. If you are a cash buyer, make sure you allow for fees, applicable taxes and needed repairs in your budget.

If you require financial assistance before you bid on a vehicle, you may apply for a loan through our office before any auction. If your finance arrangements have been made you should keep in mind that the amount you are going to borrow has to include all fees, applicable taxes and any needed repairs.

You should plan ahead as financing must be applied for Monday to Friday (Allow 24 hours for approval).

Step Two: Research



You should have an idea of what you are looking for, whether it be an economy car, work truck or minivan. Most people do some research on the type of vehicle they want, but are unsure of what price they should pay.

Knowledge is power. It is important for you to recognize a great deal and act upon it. We offer you many guides to help you narrow down your decision and save you money!

Do not feel you have to buy on your first visit, many people come back 2 or 3 times before they find the vehicle they want.

Step Three: Selecting Your Vehicle

When you see the vehicle that fits your needs, make sure you inspect it thoroughly prior to it being auctioned. Listen to the engine, inspect the equipment, check the glass, tires and body condition.

If you do not feel comfortable or confident inspecting a vehicle, we encourage you to bring a friend or mechanic that can assist you.

Step Four: Bidding On Your Vehicle


Just before the vehicle you have chosen is introduced by the auctioneer, have a maximum price in your mind that you are willing to pay and stick to it. Remember that bid prices do not include fees, applicable taxes or any needed repairs.

Watch and listen to the auctioneer carefully, he may explain something about the vehicle that you may need to hear. All declarations pertaining to the automobile will be clearly written in the window of the vehicle and repeated by the auctioneer several times.

Don’t be intimidated by the auctioneer’s enthusiasm. The auctioning team is a group of professionals that enjoy what they do and they want your experience to be as relaxed as possible. If you do not feel comfortable bidding on a vehicle, have a friend do it for you or one of our staff will be glad to help.

Step Five: Completing Your Purchase


Once you are successful in bidding on a vehicle, and the auctioneer has said “Sold!’, you simply secure a x amount deposit will vary from auction to auction but using cash, Visa, MasterCard American Express or debit card are usually welcomed.

You will be introduced to an assistant that will complete your paperwork and issue you a bill of sale.

Once the vehicle is paid in full, They will handle all of the lien searches and clearances of title, process the appropriate documents with the Ministry of Transportation and have ownership transferred to your name.

If your vehicle requires a safety certificate, They can help you make these arrangements in most cases.
